2012 Reading of New Compositions

Wed., Feb. 15 @ 8pm
Willow Place Auditorium, Brooklyn
26 Willow Place, Brooklyn Heights

The performance is the culmination of several readings of each composition by SEM (February 13-15). In addition to works by emering composers Dosia McKay (New York), Jason Brogan (Charleston, SC), Beau Sievers (Charlottesville, VA), Michael Vincent Waller (Brooklyn), Pauline Kim Harris (New York) & Andrew C. Smith (Brooklyn), SEM also worked on a new piece by Roscoe Mitchell (Oakland, CA) – a Mills College commission – for baritone and chamber orchestra. During the workshop-readings, composers have the opportunity to work with Petr Kotik and SEM to further develop their compositions.
